Boat Detailing

Showroom shine, inside and out.

Boat detailing built for the boats we sell and the lakes we ride. A typical detail runs $30 a foot and covers a full buff and polish on the gelcoat plus a thorough interior scrub — every surface wiped down, vinyl cleaned, and the boat left looking sharp. For boats with deep sun fading or heavy oxidation, we do restoration-level work including wet sanding and compounding to bring the gloss back to tired gelcoat.

What's included

  • Hand-wash with marine-safe soap
  • Buff and polish on gelcoat to restore shine
  • Full interior scrub — all surfaces wiped down
  • Vinyl cleaning and conditioning
  • Glass and helm cleaned up
  • Bilge wipedown and trailer rinse on request
  • Wet sanding and oxidation removal when needed
  • Metal polish on rails, cleats, and tower hardware

How it works

  1. 1

    Walk-around & quote

We look the boat over, check gelcoat condition and oxidation level, then quote based on what it needs — no surprise add-ons.

  2. 2

    Wash & prep

Hand-wash the hull and topsides, knock off salt and grime so we're working with clean gelcoat.

  3. 3

    Buff & polish

Machine polish to cut through haze and bring the gloss back. For deep oxidation or sun fading, we step up to wet sanding followed by compounding.

  4. 4

    Interior scrub

Every surface gets wiped down — seats scrubbed, vinyl conditioned, glass cleaned, helm and dash freshened up.

  5. 5

    Final look

We walk it with you in good light before you take it home. If something's not right, we fix it then and there.

The details

Gelcoat done right

Gelcoat is tough but not bulletproof. We use the least aggressive method that gets the job done — polish first, compound if needed, wet sand only when the fading's deep. That way there's still gelcoat left for next season.

Trailered boat life

Most of our customers trailer to lakes and rivers around the region. Our finishes are picked to hold up to highway miles, bug splatter, long days in the sun at the ramp, and rinse water that isn't always soft.

Interiors that get used hard

Wake boats see sunscreen, spilled drinks, dogs, and lake water. We scrub the vinyl clean without drying it out, then condition it so it stays soft and doesn't crack at the seams.

FAQ

How long does a full detail take?
Most 21–23 ft wake boats are a full day. If we're wet sanding and doing heavy oxidation removal, plan on a day and a half to two days.
Do I need to bring the boat to you?
Drop-off at our shop is preferred so we have good lighting and space to work, but we can do basic wash and buff mobile within ~30 miles.
How do I know if it needs wet sanding?
If the gelcoat looks chalky, dull, or faded even after a wash, there's a good chance oxidation has set in past what polish alone will fix. We'll tell you straight during the walk-around whether it needs sanding or just a good buff.
